I served for 40 days in miluim and returned to my service a week later doing the last sheva brachot with my unit on the kibbutz we were guarding.

I was a lone soldier who served in Tzuk Eitan in sayeret givati. I met Tamar when she was studying abroad in Miami. My parents and I went to Israel for sukkot with my family for the purpose of meeting Tamar’s family. We met them on chol hamoed and got engaged two days later. We set the wedding date for January 17th. Following the events of Oct 7th the hall cancelled. I was drafted into Miluim and stationed next to sderot. We started seeing other couples getting married despite the war. Friends helped us plan the wedding within a week and we got married in the south near Netivot a week later. The rest is history…
